Dr. Cangas is a big kid. For most adults, this would make a professional career difficult. For Dr. Cangas, it is his biggest strength. Dr. Cangas’ easy-going personality helps him connect easily with children making their dental experiences enjoyable and non-threatening. In addition to providing the highest quality care, Dr. Cangas’ main goal is to promote a positive attitude toward dental health and oral health care. He is a husband and a father, which helps him empathize with parents and treat all his patients as though they were his own.

Dr. Cangas is certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and is a member of the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the North Carolina Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He has lectured in Europe, Asia, and Central America and formerly served as an assistant professor at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences, Army Postgraduate Dental School.

We are incredibly delighted to welcome Dr. Lim to the Dental Derby team! On January 6, 2020, Dr. Lim joined us on a part-time basis, providing support for Dr. Cangas, both while he’s in the office and while he’s away fulfilling his Army Reserves obligations.

Dr. Lim comes from a long family history of dentistry, as she is a 4th generation dentist, and both of her parents are dentists. She is certified with the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Loma Linda University, and completed her General and Pediatric Dentistry Residencies at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, where she was chief resident. She has participated in several dental mission trips that taken her to New Mexico, Thailand, Guyana, and Guatemala.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Lim is a busy mom of two young girls. She is excited to join the Dental Derby team, to become part of this strong community, and to explore her new home state of North Carolina!
